Terry Fox, Marathon of Hope

COME OUT SUNDAY AT THE OREC FIELD FOR THE 2025 TERRY FOX RUN!

Young people today may not have the same connection that certain generations of Canadians do to Terry Fox. Those of us who are old enough to remember his 1980 cross-country Marathon of Hope have the television images of his incredible, painful, heartbreaking, journey seared into our minds. Terry took a terrible tragedy — a leg amputation that changed the course of this young athlete’s life — and turned it into a national (and international) effort to find a cure. The Terry Fox Foundation continues to promote Terry’s legacy, while fundraising runs are organized in communities coast to coast to coast. Terry’s memory, and his example, live on.

The Terry Fox Run/Walk/Wheel is back in Oxford this year!

Sunday, September 14th — 1:30pm registration, 2pm run/walk/wheel
