For the first time in years, voters in Oxford will have to decide between multiple candidates for Town Council. Recent elections were typically decided by acclamation (any candidate running unopposed is automatically awarded the position).
Residents can vote in-person, online, or over the telephone on October 19th
The usual issues are front-and-centre in Oxford’s election, as the public has taken to social media to offer opinions on the existing council’s decisions on infrastructure (street paving, water & sewer), the justification for financial contributions to the new Oxford Community Centre, traffic concerns, and many other axes on the grindstone.
We’ll feature campaign material from all candidates who wish to use The Oxford Journal as a way to reach voters. Any information that is provided (i.e., not authored by our reporters) will be tagged as such.
